Riberno jabs Kumo to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Kumo displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Riberno throws out the jab.
Kumo is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kumo throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Askren stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
We've been hearing reports that Askren has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.#TD#
Askren decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Kumo wants to get back to full guard.

Kumo is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kumo felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Hammer seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kumo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Kumo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hammer has hold of Kumo's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Kumo tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Hammer cranks the arm and Kumo screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Kumo, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
