Smith looks for a takedown but Bananna sprawls well.
Smith shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Bananna counters with a straight right hand.#CUT#It looks like Jason Smith has been cut.
Smith throws a nice looking combination but Bananna bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
An attempted straight right counter from Bananna misses the target.
Smith fails to land the takedown.
Bananna swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Strawberry Bananna has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Smith.
Smith will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Bananna was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Smith looks for a takedown but Bananna sprawls well.

Bananna has momentary wrist control but Smith slips an elbow through the middle.
Bananna knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smith on the ground.

Smith scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Bananna to see if he's OK.

The referee asks Smith politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Smith prefers to stall for the moment though.
You can see the frustration on Bananna's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Smith scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Bananna is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Smith can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jason Smith!
Jason Smith decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coast tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bananna defends well and Coast ends up having to push Bananna into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
A countering left hand to the body from Bananna misses.
Coast shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Bananna counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.#CUT2#It looks like West Coast has been cut.
Coast doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Bananna counters with a beautiful right hand that knocks Coast out cold! What a finish! Bananna is going crazy, running around the mat, summersaulting off the corner posts and screaming into the cameras. Something tells me he's pretty happy!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Strawberry Bananna!

Coast misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Bananna swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Coast has his takedown stuffed
and Coast takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. #TD#
Excellent takedown into side control there by Coast. #SUB#
Coast is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bananna is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. #SUB#
Coast thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. #SUB#
Coast is trying to get an arm triangle but Bananna is defending well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Coast takes a little break here. Bananna wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Coast has hold of Bananna's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Bananna tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Coast cranks the arm and Bananna screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Bananna, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
