We've been hearing reports that Sturridge has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
McCain shoots in for a takedown but Sturridge shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

McCain closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sturridge circles away.

McCain drops back looking for a leg! Johnson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Johnson manages to kick McCain off! McCain jumps back into Johnson's guard.

McCain goes for a double leg but McDonald avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as McDonald continues to drive forward.
McDonald keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
McCain shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says McDonald as he avoids it easily.
McDonald drops down looking for a counter takedown but McCain sprawls and moves away.
McDonald wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
McDonald lands with a right hand.
McDonald swings and misses with a hook to the body.
McCain tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but McDonald defends well and McCain ends up having to push McDonald into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that McCain has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

and Dixon cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

McCain sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Costa 's guard.

McCain shoots for a double leg takedown but Rue sprawls well. He's pushed McCain's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
McCain shoots in looking for a takedown. Rue tries to sprawl out of it but McCain keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rue manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with McCain in particular looking to stall.
Moreno really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McCain. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
