Riker shoots in for a takedown but Piper shows good takedown defense.
Piper misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Riker.
Piper defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Riker.
Riker takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Piper cracks Riker with a good jab.
Piper attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Riker tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Piper throws the kick towards the body but Riker avoids it.
Riker moves out of range of the body kick from Piper.
Riker shoots in and drives through. Piper sprawls well.
Roddy Piper has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of William Riker.
Piper stuns Riker with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Riker shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Piper's guard.

Riker is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Riker seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. #T1#

My spies in The House Of Pain inform me that Riker has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Piper is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Riker is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
