and Simpson counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Simpson blocks a leg kick. Simpson scores with a crisp jab that stopped Karhu in his tracks. Karhu closes this distance looking for a takedown but Simpson circles away. Simpson doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Simpson jabbing away but nothing is landing. Simpson bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Karhu's head. Simpson blocks the body kick.
Simpson swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Karhu throws a sloppy body shot
and Simpson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Jab from Simpson. No luck for Karhu with that takedown attempt. It seemed like Simpson was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Simpson connects with a single shot there.#T1# Simpson lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Simpson throws a looping overhand right but Karhu ducks down to avoid it. Simpson tests Karhu's chin there with a solid looking shot.#CUT2#It looks like Hemmo Karhu has been cut. Karhu needs to keep his hands up - Simpson had a free shot at his head there. Karhu throws a low kick but Simpson avoids it. Simpson is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.#TD# Karhu shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Simpson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Simpson wants to stand up but Karhu is controlling him. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Karhu keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Simpson's head. Simpson wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Karhu manages to pass to side control. #T2# Karhu trying to mount his opponent but Simpson defends it. Simpson is trying to stand.
Karhu seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Karhu working over Simpson with some ground and pound. Simpson looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.#ES2# Simpson kicks off Karhu and gets to his feet. Karhu misses with a two punch combination.
Karhu ducks under a wild hook from Simpson. A little feinted left hand from Karhu on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Simpson missing with a left hand there. Karhu was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Simpson connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Karhu momentarily.

Simpson ducks down and throws a hook to the body.#T3# Karhu misses with a takedown attempt - Simpson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hemmo Karhu. That's going to take a lot out of him. Simpson moves out of range of the body kick from Karhu.
Simpson clobbers Karhu with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Simpson lands with a good body shot. Karhu misses with a jab, cross combination.
Hemmo Karhu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Karhu misses with a low kick.
Simpson now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Simpson lands a really nice looking cross but Karhu seems unphased.

Simpson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Simpson wants to stand up but Karhu is controlling him. #T4##SUB# Karhu drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Karhu jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Karhu scoring with punches to the head and body. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Simpson wants to stand but Karhu is controlling the position. Simpson has momentary wrist control but Karhu slips an elbow through the middle.#SUB# Karhu is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Karhu stops Simpson from standing up. Simpson is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.#ES2# Simpson pushes Karhu off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
OJ Simpson dominated that round. The cut man is working on Hemmo Karhu's cut. That's time! Karhu's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.#R2# Nice takedown defense from Simpson. No joy for Karhu on that attempt. Karhu throws a hook but Simpson avoids it easily. A little jabbing left from Simpson on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Simpson lands a right hook to the body.

Karhu takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Karhu throws a leg kick that is checked and Simpson counters with a lovely straight right hand! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Karhu changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Simpson tries to avoid it but Karhu manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Simpson to the ground. Simpson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Simpson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Karhu. A little jabbing left from Simpson on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Simpson's jab looks to have found its range, popping Karhu under the eye.#T1# Karhu ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Simpson moves away. Karhu has been working on his balance at Blanc Fitness Academy, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Simpson. Karhu walks into a stiff left hand from Simpson.#TD# Karhu manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Simpson on his heels. He'll look to pass Simpson's guard now, I'm sure. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Simpson can do anything to dispel that myth. Simpson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Karhu landing with the ground and pound. Karhu won't allow Simpson to get back to his feet. #SUB# Karhu drops back looking for a leg! Simpson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Simpson manages to kick Karhu off! Karhu jumps back into Simpson's guard. Simpson is looking to stand up but Karhu isn't so interested in that idea. #SUB# Karhu thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Simpson wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Karhu manages to pass to side control. #T2# Simpson looks like he's trying to stand up.

#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Karhu moves forwards but Bard connects with a nice, crisp jab. Karhu swings and misses with a shot to the body and Bard counters with an inside leg kick. Karhu looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Bard!
Bard ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Nice defenses there by Karhu. Karhu fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Karhu ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bard moves away. Bard misses with a wild combination.
And Karhu counters with a quick kick to the body but Bard blocks it. Bard tries to land a leg kick but Karhu saw it coming and moves away.
Karhu swings for the body but Bard moves out of range.
Karhu throws the kick towards the body but Bard avoids it. Bard now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Karhu uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bard.
Karhu takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Karhu takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
#TD# Karhu shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Bard manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Karhu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bard swivels though and keeps the full guard. Bard looking for a sweep. Not yet Bard, not yet. Karhu stands up over Bard, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Bard not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Karhu wants to control from the top but Bard keeps moving. #SUB2# Bard looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Karhu scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Bard will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Karhu works over Bard with some ground and pound from guard. Karhu lands a couple of decent looking shots. Bard wants to sweep here but Karhu controlling him for the moment. #T3# Bard keeping moving, preventing Karhu from controlling successfully. Karhu landing some decent shots from guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#SUB2# Bard has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Karhu can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Karhu is working Bard over from the guard. He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Karhu looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Bard can't hide his disappointment, as Karhu celebrates the victory.

#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Karhu throws a leg kick that misses. Junior misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Karhu tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Karhu shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Junior as he avoids it easily. Junior has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.#TD2# Karhu is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Junior's half guard.#SUB2# Karhu is looking for a kimura here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Karhu lands with a punch from half guard. Karhu wants to control but Junior is keeping him busy. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Karhu is nestled in close to Junior, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Junior wants to get back to full guard. Karhu looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Karhu winds up and cracks Junior with a swinging punch to the side of the head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Junior is in a horrible position here. Karhu smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

#ROC2#Junior is rocked! Junior is looking to improve his position but Karhu isn't that keen on the idea. Junior knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Karhu on the ground. Karhu trying to control but he's not successful this time. Junior really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Junior tries to hold on but Karhu postures up. The referee warns Junior that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
#T2# The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Karhu cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Oh Junior is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! This has been an exciting period of action! Junior tries to lock up and control but Karhu gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Karhu loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Junior scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Karhu land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Karhu stands and salutes the crowd.

#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Karhu misses the shot to the body. Karhu looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Karhu fails with the takedown. Popeye throws a looping overhand right but Karhu ducks down to avoid it. John Popeye seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A telegraphed right hand from Popeye misses the target. #CL2# Popeye closes the distance and clinches. #TD2# Popeye has clasped his hands together around Karhu's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Karhu tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Popeye wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Popeye landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Karhu taking a bit of punishment here - Popeye scoring with strikes. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Popeye working the ground and pound. Karhu is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Popeye off and has taken his back! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!#SUB# Karhu sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Popeye taps out!

#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway!#CL2# Body closes the distance and pushes Karhu back into the cage. Body throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Body working Karhu over with knees to the body. Body tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Body is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Karhu throws an elbow that misses.
A short uppercut from Body. Body landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Karhu wants to take the fight to the mat but Body manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Body misses with a knee to the head. Body misses with a punch to the body.
Karhu on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Body misses with a punch on the inside.
Karhu tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Karhu takes an elbow to the forehead. Karhu is trying to pull guard but Body turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hemmo Karhu. That's going to take a lot out of him. Body stops a takedown attempt from Karhu.

Karhu content just to control the position here. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.#T3# Karhu lands a big elbow. Body tries to hold on but Karhu pushes him away. #SUB# Karhu is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Body is forced to tap! Great finish!

Karhu shoots in but Mcphee avoids the takedown attempt easily. Mcphee throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Karhu is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Karhu swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Mcphee lands a head shot. Mcphee scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Karhu throws out a loose jab but Mcphee uses good head movement to avoid it. Karhu with a poor takedown and Mcphee counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Karhu rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
enabling Mcphee to counter with a crisp jab. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mcphee with a nice cross. Mcphee lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Mcphee lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Karhu backwards. Mcphee works on Karhu's body with a couple of short punches. Mcphee pushes Karhu back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Mcphee lands with a light punch inside. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dougie Mcphee dominated that round. The cut man is working on Hemmo Karhu's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. #R2# Karhu takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.#KD# Mcphee drops Karhu with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Karhu looks back up at him and smiles so Mcphee waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Karhu is still on wobbly legs! Can Mcphee finish him? Karhu has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. Karhu gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Mcphee points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Karhu wakes up just in time to hear Mcphee thank his coaches in the post fight interview.
