A looping hook to the body misses from Romanus. Peres does a little dance to reset his feet.
Romanus shoots in for a takedown but Peres shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
And Peres tries to counter it with a takedown but Romanus pushes his down on his head and steps out.

We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
No luck for Gil with that takedown attempt.
Peres keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Peres fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gil avoids it really well and circles away.#T1#
Gil goes for a double leg but Peres avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Peres continues to drive forward.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Julian Gil. That's going to take a lot out of him.
