#R1##CL2# Mcniel closes the distance and clinches.#TD# Prince manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Mcniel controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Mcniel working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Mcniel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Prince. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Prince being controlled here, momentarily. Mcniel passes Prince's right leg, so he's now in half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Prince wants to improve his position but Mcniel is controlling well.
Mcniel is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. #CUT2# It looks like Alton Prince has been cut.#T1# Prince is not content to let Mcniel control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mcniel looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Prince with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. #SUB2# Mcniel is working for a submission of some sort.
Mcniel trying to control from Prince's half guard. Prince has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Prince bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mcniel's guard. #REVR# We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Prince could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. The fighters are battling for position here. Mcniel manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Prince postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Prince might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Prince throws a big right hand that misses. Mcniel is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Mcniel working a defensive guard but Prince manages to pass into side control anyway.
#T3##ES2# Mcniel throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Prince fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
#TD2# Mcniel gets a double leg takedown into Prince's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mcniel trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Mcniel stopping the sweep attempt from Prince. Mcniel trying to control but Prince is working from the bottom. Prince is breathing heavily. Prince wants to sweep but no luck. #T4# Mcniel sitting in guard here, content to control. It looks like Mcniel might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.#SU2# Mcniel gets to his feet - Prince follows without any prompting. #TD2# Mcniel throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Prince was covering up waiting for the punch and Mcniel finishes the takedown easily into guard. Mcniel sitting in guard here, content to control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Back to the action! #R2# Prince shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.#TD2# Mcniel dives in and scores a takedown into Prince's guard. Mcniel trying to control the position from guard on top but Prince is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. #SUB# Prince had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mcniel defends it easily.#SUB2# Mcniel has gone for a leg lock! #T1# Mcniel is trying to control Prince's posture but Prince avoids it. Mcniel holding on. Prince working the ground and pound but Mcniel is defending the strikes. Mcniel wants to control but Prince postures up.#T2# My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Mcniel tries to improve position but can't. Prince gets to mount! Mcniel was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Mcniel regains half guard. Mcniel throws a strike from the bottom but Prince passes into side control!
#T3# Mcniel tries to bench press Prince off him but Prince keeps the position. #ES2# Mcniel explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.#TD2# Mcniel shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Mcniel was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!#ES# Prince throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Mcniel has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Prince gets cracked there but stands up to it.

It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Livingston wants it to stay on the feet.#TD2# Livingston throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mcniel was covering up waiting for the punch and Livingston finishes the takedown easily into guard. Livingston is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Mcniel lands some strikes from the bottom.#SUB# Mcniel has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Livingston can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Livingston is looking to stand up but Mcniel won't let him. #SU2# Livingston stands and steps away. Mcniel gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. #T1##TD2# Livingston decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Mcniel tries to kick Livingston off in order to stand up. Livingston Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mcniel stops Livingston from passing to mount. #SU2# Livingston stands up and beckons Mcniel to his feet. #TD2# Livingston scores with a takedown into Mcniel's guard. Livingston postures up.

Livingston keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Mcniel's head.#SUB2# The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Livingston thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Livingston prevents Mcniel from getting back to his feet. Livingston controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Mcniel is trying to keep Livingston in close.

Mcniel did well to prevent Livingston getting side control. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Livingston in particular looking to stall. Livingston tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Mcniel. Mcniel moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.#SUB# Mcniel isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Livingston stacks Mcniel on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Livingston ! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
