Bufalino escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Penn darts in trying to clinch
and Bufalino counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Russel Bufalino seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Penn blocks a jab.
Bufalino misses the shot to the body.
Penn closes the distance and clinches up with Bufalino, looking for a takedown. Penn pushes Bufalino against the cage but Bufalino circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

A short body shot lands from Bufalino as the two fighters clinch.
Penn is working for takedown but Bufalino is calmly controlling the position for now.

Penn jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bufalino walks away with a smile on his face. Penn gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. #CL2#

Bufalino lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Penn backwards.
Penn drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Bufalino has Penn pressed against the cage.
Bufalino lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. #BC2#
Bufalino escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bufalino lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though. #ROC2#

Bufalino fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Penn out cold! Brutal finish!

Penn closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jensen did well to prevent Penn getting side control.
Jensen is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Penn is pressing down on Jensen's thigh, looking to free his foot. Jensen is holding on for now.

Penn has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Jensen uses from the top position.

Penn told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

That was a close round but I would say that Simon Jensen will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Penn shoots in but no luck this time.
It looked like Winkle was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Penn goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Penn lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Penn.
Winkle takes a head kick and shrugs it off. #TD#
Winkle fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Penn sprawls well initially but Winkle persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Penn is trying to escape back to his feet but Winkle uses the scramble to pass into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Winkle takes a little break here. Penn wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Penn wants to control but Winkle postures up.

Winkle takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Penn closes this distance looking for a takedown but Winkle circles away.
Winkle displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Penn.
James Winkle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of BJ Penn.

Winkle has an Americana. Penn didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Winkle is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Winkle hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
