Lius fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Silva to the ground. Lius is now in Silva's guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Silva can do anything to dispel that myth.
Lius passes into half guard.
Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lius. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

After the fight, Pete Lius was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.

Silva tries to close the distance and clinch up but Putski swats him away and circles back towards the center. #CL2#

Putski keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

A little feinted left hand from Putski on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Putski avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Silva on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Silva takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Putski rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Silva counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Putski shakes his hands by his side, trying to relax. Silva takes his eyes off the ball for a moment - Putski sees the opportunity and cracks him with a massive hook! Silva bends double and collapses on top of himself - he's out! The crowd are going absolutely nuts! Wow, what a knockout!

Silva fails in his attempt to clinch.

Silva ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

It looks like Hama Baba has been cut.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Silva stands up over Baba, holding on to his feet. Silva throws the legs to one side and dives in with a huge shot that lands flush on the chin! Baba is out cold! Silva lands a couple more shots and the ref tackles him out of the way! What a brutal finish!
