Hammer tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kneecap sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hammer somewhat.
Kneecap throwing a counter right hand but Hammer manages to avoid it.
Hammer walks into a stiff left hand from Kneecap.
Hammer walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Hammer misses with a takedown attempt
and Kneecap counters with a left to the body.
Kneecap fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Hammer on the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.#CL2#
Hammer has managed to clinch.
Kneecap softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Kneecap has a couple of punches blocked by Hammer.
Kneecap lands with a right to the head.

Hammer pulls Kneecap into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Kneecap is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Kneecap seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hammer is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Kneecap stuffs the takedown.

Hammer takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Kneecap connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Hammer's hands.
Hammer throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kneecap's waist but Kneecap gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hammer off to one side.
Kneecap tests Hammer's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Kneecap cracks Hammer with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Hammer looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Pretentious Kneecap is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Hammer tries to clinch but Kneecap moves away
and Kneecap counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.#ROC#
Hammer is rocked!
Hammer looks winded!
Kneecap finds Hammer's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Hammer flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Kneecap lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Hammer will be OK.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Pretentious Kneecap!

Hammer shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Cass's guard.
Hammer loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Cass bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hammer's guard. #REVB#
Cass passes Hammer's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Hammer is refusing to be controlled, as Cass sits in half guard.
Cass working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Hammer's thigh. Hammer counters though and makes it back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cass slips nicely into half guard.
Hammer tries to roll over but Cass keeps him under control.

Cass content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. #SUB2#
Cass is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg. #T1#
Hammer wants to get back to full guard.
Hammer is refusing to be controlled, as Cass sits in half guard.

Cass thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. #SUB2#
Cass tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. #SUB2#
Cass has hold of Hammer's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Hammer seems comfortable defending it but Cass has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Hammer is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Hammer is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Cass couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Big Cass!
