In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Velasquez working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Velasquez is fighting to break Lotz's control of his arms but Lotz is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Cain Velasquez decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

Lopez tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Velasquez defends well and Lopez ends up having to push Velasquez into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

A slapping leg kick lands for Velasquez.
