Newman swings around for an armbar but Rodriquez sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Newman's guard.
Rodriquez is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rodriquez postures up in Newman's guard and throws a big left but Newman blocks it.
Newman wants to get back to his feet but Rodriquez is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Newman is looking to stand back up but Rodriquez counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Newman. #SUB#
Rodriquez is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Newman defends it well.
Newman trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
