I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Rafael Carvalho was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Carvalho stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Carvalho wants it to stay on the feet.
Takada Jr sets himself, and Carvalho steps forward looking for the clinch! Takada Jr avoids it this time.

Carvalho bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Carvalho is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Takada Jr looks calm but he's in trouble here. Carvalho gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Takada Jr is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Carvalho lets go of the hold and Takada Jr can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Lal has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Carvalho is working away from the top position though.

Lal looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Carvalho has picked Lal up and slammed him! Lal can't keep hold of the triangle and Carvalho manages to pass to side control!

Carvalho tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Carvalho has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Lal seems a little lost for a moment, as Carvalho dominates the positioning.
Carvalho has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Lal!

Carvalho looking to control and managing it successfully.
Let's hope that Carvalho has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Lal really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
