This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rumble rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Verhoeven rattles Rumble with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Rumble tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Verhoeven dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Rumble stiff and motionless on the mat!

Khan is working for a takedown up against the ropes. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Shaun Rumble has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Temujin Khan.
With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Rumble creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Khan looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Benson Whyte decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

Rumble missing with a left hand there. Jackson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Jackson is breathing heavily.

Jackson finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Rumble's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Jackson falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!

In his post fight interview, Shaun Rumble started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.

Rumble lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Gomez shoots for a double leg takedown but Rumble sprawls well. He's pushed Gomez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Gomez misses with a takedown attempt - Rumble sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Rumble thinks about countering with a head kick.
Gomez's coach down at Soul Supremacy Rio was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Gomez's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Gomez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rumble tries to avoid it but Gomez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rumble to the ground. Rumble escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Shaun Rumble spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
