Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Vasquez cracks Silfa on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Silfa falls backwards against the cage. Vasquez follows up with more strikes that drop Silfa to his knees. Vasquez keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Silfa! This one is all over!

Vasquez fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Shannon looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.#TD#
Shannon throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Vasquez tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Shannon is in Vasquez's guard.
Shannon wants to get up but he can't break Vasquez's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Shannon engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Vasquez wants to get back to his feet but Shannon is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Shannon is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shannon would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Shannon slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
