We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Darmody has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Darmody avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
As Brickstock backs off Darmody throws a huge counter combo but Brickstock manages to avoid it all.

A quick step to the side and Brickstock tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Darmody trying to keep a closed guard but Wildslap is proving a slippery customer.

Darmody has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
Wildslap seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The Beast dives in for a single leg takedown but Darmody sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Verovic fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Darmody feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Verovics jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Darmody keeps the fight on the outside.
Verovic tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Darmody paws at him with a jab and circles away.
The crowd cheers as Darmody lands an impressive looking overhand right. Verovic doesn't seem phased though.

Batista looks up at the clock and then as Darmody takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Batista smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Darmody wants to slow Zeuz down by chopping away at his legs.
Zeuz on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Darmody looks to score with a jab to the body but Zeuz is just out of range.

Darmody lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Darmody throws a leg kick but Zeuz sees it coming and moves out of range.

Good leg kick by Zeuz there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Horrible takedown attempt by Zeuz or perhaps it was just good defense by Darmody, which made it look bad.
