Hawthorne throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ashkir.
Hawthorne is looking to clinch.
Hawthorne tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Hawthorne tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Ashkir manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Ashkir wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Hawthorne looks to clinch
and Ashkir counters with a nice low kick that buckles Hawthorne's knee momentarily.
Ashkir fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Hawthorne has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

After the fight, Cabaas Ashkir was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
