Lowery has McBride pressed against the cage, preventing McBride from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Lowery really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
McBride is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Lowery is looking for a takedown up against the cage. McBride gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
McBride is trying to break the clinch but Lowery has him pressed against the cage.
Lowery blocks an elbow strike.
Lowery wants to get back to striking at distance but McBride won't allow it.
McBride lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
McBride prevents Lowery from breaking the clinch.
McBride is trying to push Lowery away but Lowery has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

McBride's coach down at Cozad MMA New York was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on McBride's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

McBride throws a right and a left that both miss.
William McBride is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Lowery dodges the punch combination from McBride.
Lowery drops down looking for a counter takedown but McBride sprawls and moves away.
McBride lands a nice hook to Lowery's body. Lowery takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
McBride connects with a superb combination that knocks Lowery out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles McBride before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Lowery!

Koskinen fails with a takedown attempt.
Koskinen shoots in looking for a takedown. McBride tries to sprawl out of it but Koskinen keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McBride manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
McBride lands with a nice body punch.
Koskinen fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
William McBride has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jari Koskinen.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Koskinen closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. #SUB2#
Koskinen is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
McBride looks like he's trying to stand up. #SUB2#

Koskinen is sneakily working for an arm triangle but McBride sees it coming and defends easily.
Koskinen stops McBride from getting back to his feet.
Koskinen thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed McBride's head. #SUB2#
Koskinen has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can McBride defend it? Koskinen steps over the head and cranks it - McBride is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Koskinen!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jari Koskinen!
After the fight, Jari Koskinen was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
In defeat, William McBride stepped up to the mic, saying 'My opponent got the better of me. He was the better man today. All I can do is train and try to get better. '.

McBride throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lopez.
McBride throws a series of punches but Lopez moves out of range.
Lopez walks into a straight right hand from McBride.
McBride misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Lopez.
McBride lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Lopez goes down and covers up as McBride starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). William McBride!
