It looks like Ilmari Kuusi has been cut.
Kuusi tries to move into range but Zaitsev moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Zaitsev lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Zaitsev darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Kuusi drops his hands momentarily. Zaitsev doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Kuusi staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Kuusi doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.

After winning the bout, Ilmari Kuusi thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
Dwight Everidge spoke after the fight, saying 'Played my cards well but I wasnt able to get the W tonight. Its okay, though. Hats off to my opponent he's amazing but I'll be back. Trust me.'.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Kuusi lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Mammoth has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Mammoth and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Kuusi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tso's waist but Tso gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kuusi off to one side.

We've been hearing good reports from Louiseau's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Kuusi fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Beefcake sprawls well initially but Kuusi persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Kuusi dives in for a single leg takedown but Hanson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Hanson scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kuusi doesn't seem bothered though.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Phoenix enables Kuusi to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Phoenix manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Phoenix escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kuusi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Our spies down at at KING OF PAIN inform us that Phoenix has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

and Halla counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Kuusi thinking.

Halla cracks Kuusi with a good jab.
Kuusi shoots in looking for a takedown but Halla manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kuusi's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Halla appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Halla lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Halla scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kuusi doesn't seem bothered though.
