Kovalenko tries to bum rush Petely with a series of wild strikes but Petely uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Petely shoots for a double leg takedown but Kovalenko sprawls well. He's pushed Petely's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Petely finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Vladimirovich's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Petely falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!

Vladimir Vladimirovich was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Petely has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.#CL2#
