Coming up we have a featherweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Akira Hayabusa and Ronaldo Gracie. Hayabusa comes to the cage accompanied by Paris. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the featherweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 4 wins and 5 losses; Akira Hayabusa! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 1 losses; Ronaldo Gracie!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Gracie looking to score a takedown here. Hayabusa is defending well but Gracie drives through and ends up in Hayabusa's guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Hayabusa (0) vs (2) Gracie
Hayabusa pulls Gracie in close to prevent any damage.

Gracie is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Gracie is pushing down on Hayabusa's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hayabusa is fighting to maintain full guard but Gracie has managed to sneak the leg through.
Gracie wants to free his trapped foot but Hayabusa is holding on for dear life with his legs.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hayabusa moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Gracie looking to improve position, pressing down on Hayabusa's thigh with his hand. Hayabusa seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Gracie paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Gracie's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Hayabusa picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!

Hero closes the distance and pushes Gracie back into the cage.
Gracie blocks a punch to the side of the head.
A head punch on the inside from Hero fails to land.
Hero lands a hook that snaps the head of Gracie backwards.
A nice left hand lands by Hero.
Gracie blocking some punches.
Hero lands a left hand that snaps the head of Gracie backwards.
Hero lands a hook that snaps the head of Gracie backwards.
Hero swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Hero misses with some punches.
Hero swings wildly with an uppercut but Gracie uses good head movement to avoid it.
A short uppercut from Hero.
Hero makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gracie tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Hero working aggressively here.
Hero prevents a takedown attempt there.
Gracie tries to pull guard but Hero forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ronaldo Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gracie tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Gracie blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Gracie is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Hero pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Hero lands a left hand.
Gracie has Hero pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Hero manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Gracie tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hero just stands there and leans against the cage.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Hero.
Hero scores with a shoulder strike.
Gracie drops down looking for an ankle pick but Hero pulls his leg out and moves away.

Hero throws a punch but it's blocked by Gracie.
Hero misses with a short punch on the inside.
Gracie wants to take the fight to the mat but Hero manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Hero lands a left hand.

Gracie is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hero gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Hero misses with a punch on the inside.

Gracie is breathing heavily.

Hero trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Hero looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gracie is one step ahead there.
Hero throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Gracie wants to pass the guard but Hero is keeping the position.#SUB#
Gracie thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Hero manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gracie manages to get himself to full guard.

Hero is working Gracie over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Gracie has momentary wrist control but Hero slips an elbow through the middle.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hero stands up over Gracie, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Hero working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Gracie's head.#SUB#

Gracie throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Hero postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Hero gets to his feet and stands over Gracie, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Gracie felt that one! Hero unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Gracie from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Canadian Hero!
After winning the bout, Canadian Hero thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
