The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sionis shoots in and bounces Box off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Box is working an open guard so Sionis takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Sionis shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Box pushes Sionis off but Sionis dives into side control.

Sionis decides to stand up, so the ref orders Box to his feet.
Sionis shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Box as he avoids it easily.
Box fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Sionis tries for a takedown but Box sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Box went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

It looks like Johny Box has been cut.

Sionis decides to stand up, so the ref orders Box to his feet.

Sionis closes the distance and pushes Box back into the cage.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Sionis seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Box wanted to stand there but Sionis had control of the position.
Sionis is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sionis looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Box throws an elbow that misses. Sionis uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Box's guard. Nice move by Sionis!

Sionis gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Sionis throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Box was covering up waiting for the punch and Sionis finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Box tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sionis paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Sionis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Box tries to avoid it but Sionis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Box to the ground. Box escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Box stuns Sionis with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Box stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Box wants it to stay on the feet.
Sionis shoots for a double leg takedown but Box sprawls well. He's pushed Sionis's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Box tries to lock up and control but Sionis gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Sionis takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Let's hope that Sionis has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Box is looking to improve his position but Sionis isn't that keen on the idea.

Well Sionis has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
