Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jonathon Harel (ranked 4030 p4p, 110 weight class) and Ewart Soso (ranked 5818 p4p, 142 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jonathon Harel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ewart Soso!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Matti Vanhoillinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soso tries to score a power double leg takedown but Harel sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Soso somewhat.
Soso takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Soso fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Harel avoids it really well and circles away.
A head kick misses from Harel.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Soso looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Jonathon Harel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ewart Soso.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Harel slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Harel feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Soso is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Harel makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Soso is staying active underneath Harel, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Soso gets caught napping as Harel dives in and scores a takedown. Soso manages to retain guard.

Soso is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Harel is aware though and is defending well.
Soso will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Harel decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Harel seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Harel in particular looking to stall.

Soso is looking for a sweep. Harel is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Harel is looking to take a break and control but Soso is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Harel passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Soso!
Harel has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Soso's face.

Harel swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Soso is now in Harel's guard. A big mistake from Harel there, giving up the dominant position!

The fighters are battling for position here. Harel manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Soso loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Harel has his foot on Soso's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Soso works his way back into a safe position though.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Soso accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Harel shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Soso as he avoids it easily.

Soso tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Harel defends well and Soso ends up having to push Harel into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
