Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Franklin Dong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pappa Ginney!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dong tries to clinch up.
Ginney looks to land a left hand but Dong moved out of range nicely.
Dong throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ginney's waist but Ginney gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dong off to one side.

Dong moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Dong tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ginney sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dong somewhat.

Dong feints and as Ginney raises his hands in defense, Dong changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Ginney is trying to control the position but Dong postures up.
Dong is fighting to break Ginney's control of his arms but Ginney is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Dong throws a strike but Ginney rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Dong wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Ginney is now in half guard.

Ginney is stalling here. Dong is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Ginney seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Dong has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dong is trying to ground and pound but Ginney uses the momentary lack of control by Dong to regain half guard.

Dong shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ginney as he jumps to the side.
Ginney throws a hook to the side of Dong's head but Dong sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Dong fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Ginney throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Dong was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Ginney avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
