Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bjorn Akerfeldt (ranked 5378 p4p, 482 weight class) and Miles Baker (ranked 24040 p4p, 592 weight class). Miles Baker is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Miles Baker!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Igor Prikhodko and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nice combo by Akerfeldt! Oh, that's hurt him - Baker falls to the canvas and Akerfeldt follows him into side control.


It looks like Miles Baker has been cut.
Akerfeldt throws a strike aimed at the side of Baker's head but Baker avoids it well.

Akerfeldt has been working on his balance at Blood & Sand, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Baker.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Baker shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Akerfeldt pinned against the cage. Akerfeldt gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Baker unleashes a big counter combination but Akerfeldt bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Akerfeldt is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Baker can do to turn this around?
Akerfeldt lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Baker circles away quickly and effectively.

Baker throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Akerfeldt drops Baker with a right and a left! Akerfeldt comes rushing in but Baker regains his composure and manages to keep Akerfeldt in guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Akerfeldt tries to close the distance and clinch but Baker swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
It seemed like Baker was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Bjorn Akerfeldt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Baker is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Akerfeldt doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Baker crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Baker's bad books for that mishap!
