The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pelican uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by KickAss.
Pelican misses with a head kick.
Pelican bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
A left and a right from KickAss both land. Nice combination.
Pelican throws a combination but it was largely blocked by KickAss.

Pelican has taken the fight to the clinch.

Pelican works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

KickAss is trying to control the position from the bottom.
KickAss really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pelican . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Pelican tries to free his leg and advance position but KickAss is retaining full guard.

Pelican drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Pelican jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
KickAss is trying to control the position but Pelican postures up.

KickAss is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Pelican with a flurry of punches that miss.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

KickAss is looking for a triangle but Pelican pushes his legs off easily.

Pelican is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. KickAss is trying to escape and Pelican transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and KickAss is forced to tap! Nice work there by Pelican ! Very nice indeed!
