The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryan slips under a jab from Kong.
Kong swinging wilding here.
Kong throws a right and a left that Ryan avoids nicely.

Ryan drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Ryan throws and elbow that misses. Kong uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ryan's guard. Nice move by Kong!
Ryan wants to sweep here but Kong controlling him for the moment.
Ryan is striking from the bottom but Kong uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
Ryan flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Ryan is looking for a sweep. Kong is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Ryan ducks under a wild hook from Kong.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ryan jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Kong manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Ryan drops back looking for a leg! Kong is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kong manages to kick Ryan off! Ryan jumps back into Kong's guard.

Kong is looking to sinch up a triangle. Ryan throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Kong's body to avoid the submission. Kong has instead reached around Ryan's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Kong arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
