Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Rodd (ranked 1896 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronny Limmerick (ranked 1673 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that John Rodd has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily John Rodd seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, John Rodd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ronny Limmerick!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Daniel Franklin and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodd ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Limmerick moves away.
Limmerick throws the left hand but Rodd avoids the punch easily.
Limmerick's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Rodd connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Limmerick scrambles back to his feet.
Rodd definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Limmerick ducks under a wild hook from Rodd.
A jab from Rodd finds it's way through Limmerick's defenses.
Rodd takes a swing at Limmerick's ribcage but misses.
Rodd jabs Limmerick right on the nose. Limmerick blinks but takes it well.
Rodd tries to clinch but Limmerick moves away
and Rodd takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
It looks like John Rodd has been cut.
Rodd clobbers Limmerick with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Rodd throws out a loose jab but Limmerick uses good head movement to avoid it.
Rodd closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Limmerick quickly recovers to half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rodd passes the guard and advances to mount!
Rodd looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Rodd sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Limmerick can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rodd jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Limmerick manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Limmerick trying to remain calm as Rodd controls from the top position.
Rodd advances to full mount.
Rodd controlling the pace for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Limmerick has left one of his arms exposed and Rodd doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Limmerick screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). John Rodd!
