The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Von Mises has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Fist stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Fist sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Von Mises tries to pull guard but Fist holds him up against the cage and eventually Von Mises drops back down to his feet.

Von Mises jumps guard but Fist stands there with Von Mises around his waist. Von Mises gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Von Mises is trying to pull guard but Fist turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Fist working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Fist lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Von Mises tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Fist smiles and moves away.
Von Mises doesn't manage to clinch there - Fist circles away.
Von Mises fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Fist manages to avoid it.
Von Mises is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Fist rather than just go for the knockout.
Von Mises throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
The fighters circling - Von Mises throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Fist was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Von Mises seems to have recovered his senses.

Von Mises throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Fist on the side of the head.

Von Mises has his foot on Fist's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Fist works his way back into a safe position though.

Fist gets to his feet - Von Mises follows without any prompting.
Fist is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Von Mises flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Von Mises is out cold! Fist holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
