Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kolby Khaos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Istvan Meszaros!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, William Peck and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meszaros fails with the takedown
and Khaos holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Khaos trying to land knees to the body.
Khaos lands a shoulder strike.
It looks like Istvan Meszaros has been cut.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Khaos takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Khaos lands an uppercut.
Khaos lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Meszaros or not.
Khaos tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Khaos lands an uppercut.
Meszaros can't break the clinch.
Meszaros is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Khaos is keeping busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Meszaros tries to pull guard but Khaos forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Meszaros has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Khaos after a bit of a struggle.
Kolby Khaos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Istvan Meszaros.
Meszaros is trying to drag Khaos to the mat but Khaos just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Khaos definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Khaos lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Meszaros.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Khaos breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Khaos keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Meszaros is trying hard to land a takedown here. Khaos sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Meszaros shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Khaos pinned against the cage. Khaos gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Meszaros looks winded!
Horrible takedown attempt by Meszaros or perhaps it was just good defense by Khaos, which made it look bad.
Khaos drives through and clinches with Meszaros against the cage.
Meszaros can't break the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Meszaros wants to break free but Khaos has control.
A body shot lands from Khaos.
Khaos is leaning against Meszaros and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Khaos manages to pull guard.
Meszaros has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Khaos to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Meszaros is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Khaos pulls down on the head and he's put Meszaros to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Kolby Khaos!
Kolby Khaos gave a mention to Arcticus University: London in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
