Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Schubert (ranked 3006 p4p, 121 weight class) and Claudio Escorre (ranked 1610 p4p, 75 weight class). Escorre has chosen Chico Science & Nação Zumbi - Da Lama Ao Caos as his entrance music. Thomas Schubert could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Claudio Escorre's chin.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Claudio Escorre!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Daniel Blasius and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Escorre on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Escorre fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Schubert lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Schubert misses with an uppercut. Escorre saw that one coming.

Schubert shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Escorre is trying to defend but Schubert finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Escorre is doing well to control the position and prevent Schubert from advancing to side control.

Escorre makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

We've been hearing reports that Schubert has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Schubert wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Escorre, who protects the arm well.
Escorre seems a little lost for a moment, as Schubert dominates the positioning.

Schubert is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Escorre knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Schubert will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Escorre is trying to control Schubert's posture but Schubert avoids it.

Schubert goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Escorre rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Schubert's guard! Nice work there by Escorre!
