PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ronaldo Souza (ranked 25172 p4p, 0 weight class) and Codename Colt (ranked 23551 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Colt stuffs the takedown attempt from Souza. Souza gets slowly back to his feet.
Colt follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
Souza just misses with a punch to the body.
Colt slaps away a takedown attempt from Souza, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Colt drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Souza defends it well.
Colt displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Souza.
Colt now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

Souza throws the kick towards the body but Colt avoids it.

A nice side step and Colt releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Souza rushes Colt and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Souza escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Colt shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Souza pinned against the cage. Souza gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Souza tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Colt manages to circle out of the way.

Colt avoids a punch combination nicely.
Colt now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Souza shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Colt sprawls well. Colt wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Souza gets slowly back to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Souza shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Colt napping and manages to drive through into side control!

That was a close round but I would say that Ronaldo Souza will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Souza rushes Colt and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Souza is trying to push Colt away but Colt has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Souza is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Colt can't fight it off and eventually Souza manages to take the fight to the floor. Colt looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

It seemed like Colt was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Colt now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

Souza gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Colt cracks Souza with a nice body shot.

Souza manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Colt postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Colt wants to control from the top but Souza keeps moving.

Colt gets to his feet - Souza follows without any prompting.
Colt dives in and grabs Souza's left leg, looking for a takedown. Souza pushes down on Colt's head and hops out.
Souza appears to be looking for a big counter.
Souza shoots in but Colt avoids the takedown attempt easily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ronaldo Souza will probably get the nod.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Souza fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Colt, pushing him back against the cage.
Colt takes an elbow to the temple.

It looks like Codename Colt has been cut.

Souza gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Souza is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Colt still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Colt has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Colt stands up and beckons Souza to his feet.

Colt closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Souza's guard.
Souza is wriggling around but Colt manages to pass to half guard.

Souza is looking for a sweep. Colt is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
