Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Benny Cocacola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronnie Cordoza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Benny Cocacola!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ronnie Cordoza!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cocacola will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
No luck for Cocacola with that takedown attempt.
Cocacola shoots in for a takedown but Cordoza shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Benny Cocacola. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cordoza keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Cocacola throws a combination. Cordoza tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Will Cocacola go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Cocacola gets his hands free as Cordoza looks to control.
You can see the frustration on Cordoza's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Cordoza breaks Cocacola's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Cordoza thows a big elbow that misses.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Cocacola displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cordoza throws out the jab.
Cordoza misses with a two punch combination.
Cordoza throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Ronnie Cordoza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Cocacola tries to close the distance and clinch but Cordoza swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Cordoza shoots for a takedown but Cocacola saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Cocacola ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Cordoza throws a big shot that misses.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Cordoza loads up on a big right hand but Cocacola slips the punch.
Cordoza fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Cocacola feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Cocacola shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cordoza but Cordoza pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Cordoza pushes Cocacola off looking to stand but Cocacola dives back in and keeps control.
Cocacola is taking a breather. Cordoza says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Cocacola passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Cordoza!

Cordoza is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Cocacola pulls his head out easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Cordoza wants to get back to full guard but Cocacola has passed into side control.

Cocacola stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cordoza swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Cocacola postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Cordoza is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Cocacola, into his guard.

Cordoza drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Cocacola manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Cordoza has Cocacola in his guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Benny Cocacola showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Cocacola has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
