Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Guilherme Mendes (ranked 3398 p4p, 343 weight class) and Darry Curtis (ranked 19177 p4p, 515 weight class). Darry Curtis will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Nard Betker and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendes throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
No joy there for Mendes, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Curtis circles away from the clinch attempt.
Curtis throws out a counter right but Mendes avoids it with no problem.
Curtis looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Mendes does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
It seemed like Curtis was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Guilherme Mendes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Curtis looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Mendes tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Curtis defends well and Mendes ends up having to push Curtis into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Mendes shoots in for a takedown but Curtis shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Mendes feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That was a close second round but I would say that Guilherme Mendes will probably get the nod.

The fight stays on the outside here - Mendes looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Mendes counters with a single leg into guard. Curtis didn't expect that.
Curtis wants to improve his position here. There's a bit of a scramble and Mendes has taken Curtis's back! He's locked on a rear naked choke here and Curtis has been forced to tap!
