Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Richard McAuliffe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Andy Kipling!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Sergei Dronov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McAuliffe moves into the clinch.

Kipling has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of McAuliffe is proving hard to escape from.

McAuliffe's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and McAuliffe counters with a stiff right hand.

Kipling closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

and McAuliffe counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kipling won't be happy with that.
Richard McAuliffe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andy Kipling.

McAuliffe works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
McAuliffe knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kipling on the ground.
Kipling tries to improve position but can't.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


McAuliffe uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
McAuliffe misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

McAuliffe throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Kipling on the side of the head.
McAuliffe avoids a kick to the body.
McAuliffe tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Kipling manages to circle out of the way.
Kipling steps to the side to avoid the strikes from McAuliffe.
Andy Kipling is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
McAuliffe digs a good body shot into Kipling's ribs.
Andy Kipling seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McAuliffe punishes Kipling's body with a nice straight punch.

Kipling is looking for a takedown up against the cage. McAuliffe gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

McAuliffe manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kipling throws a lazy uppercut
and McAuliffe counters with a lovely straight right hand!
McAuliffe is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Kipling tries to clinch up but McAuliffe circles away and keeps his distance.

Kipling fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with McAuliffe, pushing him back against the cage.
McAuliffe wants a takedown but no success here.
McAuliffe jumps guard but Kipling stands there with McAuliffe around his waist. McAuliffe gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
McAuliffe fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Richard McAuliffe. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Kipling misses with a hook from the clinch.

Kipling has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. McAuliffe is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Kipling tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. McAuliffe smiles and moves away.

McAuliffe's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A looping hook to the body misses from McAuliffe. Kipling does a little dance to reset his feet.
Kipling now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Kipling shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has McAuliffe pinned against the cage. McAuliffe gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
McAuliffe was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Kipling is looking to control McAuliffe's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kipling avoid being mounted?

Kipling is refusing to be controlled, as McAuliffe sits in half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Kipling manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
McAuliffe pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kipling is keeping the position for now.
McAuliffe stands up over Kipling, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Kipling misses with an uppercut.
McAuliffe looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
McAuliffe lunges at Kipling with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Kipling's hand.

McAuliffe throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Kipling tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. McAuliffe is in Kipling's guard.
Kipling controls McAuliffe momentarily but McAuliffe frees himself.

McAuliffe throws a sloppy strike and Kipling has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! McAuliffe is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Kipling!
