Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between One One (ranked 3835 p4p, 397 weight class) and Ilpo Pallero (ranked 4208 p4p, 415 weight class). The key to victory for One One has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, One One!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ilpo Pallero!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Steve Smith and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
One connects with a high kick.


It looks like Ilpo Pallero has been cut.
One swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Pallero changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
A low kick from One misses

and Pallero decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in One's guard.
Pallero slips nicely into half guard.
Pallero takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
One's coaches at Doc Dannis Death Squad have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
One is refusing to be controlled, as Pallero sits in half guard.

One tries to hold on but Pallero pushes him away.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
One tries to reverse the position but Pallero maintains control.
Pallero can't control as he wanted to and One manages to get the fight back to his half guard.

Pallero seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but One does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
One regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Pallero.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

One is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Pallero postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! One is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Pallero, into his guard.

Pallero lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

One is pulling down on Pallero's head. It's preventing any offense from Pallero, at least for the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
