The judges for this bout are James Glass, Phil Schofield and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vernon tries to sprawl but Dean drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Vernon wants to get back to his feet.
Dean is controlling the pace.

Dean postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Vernon to stand up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vernon moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Vernon closes the distance and pushes Dean back into the cage.
Vernon lands a nice shot to the body.

Vernon manages to break the clinch.

Dean fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Vernon sprawls well initially but Dean persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Dean throwing shots but Vernon is blocking nicely.

Dean's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The crowd cheers as Vernon lands an impressive looking overhand right. Dean doesn't seem phased though.
Vernon slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.


It looks like James Dean has been cut.

Vernon moves into range and clinches up with Dean.
Vernon lands with a right to the head.
Vernon presses Dean against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Vernon lands a shoulder strike.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Vernon lands a right hand that snaps the head of Dean backwards.
Vernon lands a left hand.
Vernon wants to stall.
Vernon fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Dean tries to circle away but Vernon has him pinned against the cage.

Dean keeps control of Vernon as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Vernon scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Dean is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Dean has had enough of the clinch but Vernon keeps him there for the moment.
Vernon swings wildly with an uppercut but Dean uses good head movement to avoid it.
Dean has Vernon pressed against the cage, preventing Vernon from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Vernon misses with the head strike.
Vernon stalling.
Vernon tries to break the clinch but Dean is controlling the position.
Vernon works on Dean's body with a couple of short punches.

Vernon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Dean clinches with his opponent.
A frustrated look appears on Vernon's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Dean is trying to pull guard but Vernon turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Vernon misses with a hook from the clinch.

Dean is breathing heavily.
Vernon lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Vernon lands a left hand.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Vernon manages to break the clinch.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Still in the clinch, Vernon scores with a nice short uppercut.
Dean tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
A right hook to the body lands for Vernon.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Finn Vernon dominated that round.
The cut man is working on James Dean's cut.

Vernon takes the fight into the clinch.
Vernon tries to break the clinch but Dean is controlling the position.
Dean is looking for a takedown.
Dean blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Dean successfully pulls guard.

Vernon stands up from Dean's guard - Vernon perhaps looking for a knockout.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Dean wants to get back to striking at distance but Vernon won't allow it.

Dean darts in and clinches Vernon up against the cage.
Still in the clinch, Vernon scores with a nice short uppercut.

Vernon drops Dean onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Dean is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!


Dean is rocked!


James Dean's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Vernon has Dean pushed against the cage.
Oh Dean is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Vernon lands with a light punch inside.

A quick uppercut on the inside from Vernon.
Vernon lands a body shot.
Dean seems to have got his legs back now.
Vernon scores with a shoulder strike.
Vernon lands a right hand that snaps the head of Dean backwards.


Jeez, James Dean's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Vernon lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Dean to his knees! Vernon keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
