These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McCready closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Murugan to the mat! Murugan manages to get full guard.

Murugan looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Murugan had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. McCready is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Murugan Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take McCready's back instead.
Murugan doesn't have the hooks in and McCready manages to turn into his guard.

McCready is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Murugan is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

McCready thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
McCready shoots in but no luck this time.

A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Murugan is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for McCready!
