Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Muhamad Fatih (ranked 4062 p4p, 222 weight class) and Max Engelmann (ranked 22659 p4p, 286 weight class). Max Engelmann told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Muhamad Fatih!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Max Engelmann!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Eddie Farnsworth and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Engelmann lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.


It looks like Muhamad Fatih has been cut.
Max Engelmann seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Fatih is defended easily by Engelmann.

Engelmann moves into the clinch successfully.
Engelmann is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Fatih tries to pull guard but Engelmann holds him up against the cage and eventually Fatih drops back down to his feet.
Fatih changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Engelmann fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Muhamad Fatih. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Fatih scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fatih moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Fatih thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fatih is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Engelmann will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Fatih is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Engelmann has escaped the position, nice work there.
Fatih content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Fatih has hold of Engelmann's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Engelmann seems comfortable defending it but Fatih has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Engelmann is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Engelmann is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Fatih couldn't care less - he's delighted!
