PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fedor Lesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Travis Levitt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lesnar kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Enae Volare Mezzo. Travis Levitt has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Fedor Lesnar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Travis Levitt!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Steve Erwin and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Levitt throws the kick towards the body but Lesnar avoids it.
Lesnar lands a nice shot to the body.
Lesnar blocks a jab.
Levitt tries to land a front kick but Lesnar steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Levitt throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Lesnar sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Levitt tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Lesnar looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Levitt is looking to improve his position but Lesnar isn't that keen on the idea.
Levitt is in a horrible position here. Lesnar smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Levitt tries to reverse the position but Lesnar maintains control.

Lesnar wants to finish this one by submission but Levitt is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Lesnar.

Levitt's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Lesnar is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Levitt can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Levitt is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Lesnar gets his way!

Lesnar throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.

Levitt is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Levitt is on top in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lesnar manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Levitt manages to get himself to full guard.

Levitt is looking to stand up but Lesnar isn't so interested in that idea.
Lesnar stands and throws Levitt's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Lesnar working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Levitt pushes Lesnar away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Lesnar gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Lesnar moves into the clinch successfully.
Lesnar pushes Levitt back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Levitt has had enough of the clinch but Lesnar keeps him there for the moment.
Lesnar lands a nice elbow from the clinch.


It looks like Travis Levitt has been cut.
Lesnar is trying to drag Levitt to the mat but Levitt just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Levitt has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Lesnar's face.
Levitt lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Levitt cracks Lesnar with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close second round but I would say that Fedor Lesnar will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Lesnar is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Levitt is just riding it out for now. Lesnar eventually gives up the hold.

Levitt is pushing Lesnar's head away, looking to escape. Lesnar manages to hold on to the position though.
Lesnar wants to lay and pray for a moment but Levitt keeps working.

Levitt tries to buck Lesnar off but Lesnar is having none of it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Levitt misses with a body kick.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Lesnar has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Lesnar uses his free foot to push down on Levitt's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Levitt.
Lesnar looking to control but Levitt is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Levitt chipping away with body shots but they're not going to hurt Lesnar.
Lesnar takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Well Lesnar has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
