Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between King Mufasa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nikolay Voronov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). King Mufasa has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, King Mufasa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nikolay Voronov!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Bruno Hogan and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mufasa drives through and clinches with Voronov against the cage.

Mufasa manages to break the clinch.

Mufasa closes the distance and clinches.

Voronov gets control of Mufasa's arms and successfully pulls guard. Voronov will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Mufasa looking to pass the guard.
Voronov looking to control but Mufasa passes into half guard.
Mufasa not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Mufasa is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Voronov doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Mufasa.

Mufasa is working for a submission of some sort.

Mufasa is looking for a kimura but Voronov is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Mufasa to get the leverage.

Voronov gets back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mufasa wants to stand and escape but instead Voronov has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Mufasa working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Voronov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Voronov manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Mufasa looking for a guillotine here but Voronov defends easily.
Voronov sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mufasa's guard.

Mufasa tries to roll over but Voronov keeps him under control.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Mufasa moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Voronov wants to pass the guard but Mufasa is keeping the position.
Mufasa is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Voronov is controlling him.

Mufasa is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Mufasa is breathing heavily.
Voronov trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Voronov trying to control the position from guard on top but Mufasa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Mufasa has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Voronov off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Voronov looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Voronov uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Mufasa.
Mufasa really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Voronov fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Mufasa lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Voronov walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
A telegraphed right hand from Mufasa misses the target.
Mufasa throws a right hand that Voronov ducks under and follows up with a left that Voronov also avoids with ease.
An inside leg kick from Mufasa misses.
Mufasa tries to clinch up.
Mufasa is looking to clinch.
Mufasa getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Voronov wants to clinch up but Mufasa keeps it at a distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

King Mufasa dominated that round.
That's time! Mufasa's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Voronov moves into the clinch successfully.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Mufasa prevents a takedown attempt there.

Mufasa breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Mufasa throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Voronov on the side of the head.


It looks like Nikolay Voronov has been cut.

Voronov drives through with a takedown into guard.

Mufasa is looking for a triangle but Voronov pushes his legs off easily.
Voronov looking to pass the guard.

Mufasa looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Voronov passes into side control.
Voronov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mufasa keeps working.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Mufasa is looking for a sweep. Voronov is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Voronov controlling the pace.

Voronov works his way into side control.
Voronov gets to mount! Mufasa was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Voronov prevents Mufasa from getting the reversal.
Voronov trying to control but Mufasa is having none of it.
Mufasa is desperately trying to improve his position but Voronov has a good base and remains in mount.

Mufasa is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Voronov can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mufasa is looking to escape.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Mufasa can't escape the position.
Mufasa is working hard here to advance position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Nikolay Voronov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Voronov shoots in and bounces Mufasa off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Mufasa has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Voronov is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Mufasa.
Mufasa is trying to get back to his feet.
Voronov has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Mufasa!
Voronov can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mufasa is looking to escape.
Mufasa is desperately trying to improve his position but Voronov has a good base and remains in mount.

Voronov perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Mufasa has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Voronov escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Voronov!
Voronov is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Mufasa is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Voronov gets to mount! Mufasa was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Mufasa is squirming around, avoiding Voronov's attempts to control the action.
Voronov might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Mufasa kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Despite being in the dominant position, Nikolay Voronov just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Mufasa tries to bum rush Voronov with a series of wild strikes but Voronov uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Voronov uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Mufasa.
Voronov shoots for a takedown but Mufasa saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Mufasa fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Voronov sprawls well initially but Mufasa persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Mufasa will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Mufasa is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Mufasa is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Voronov is just riding it out for now. Mufasa eventually gives up the hold.
Voronov is looking for a sweep. Mufasa is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Voronov is concentrating on defense, preventing Mufasa from advancing position.
Nikolay Voronov has got the better of the ground game so far.
Mufasa tries to stand but can't do so whilst Voronov controls his leg.

Nikolay Voronov comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Voronov has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
