Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dale English (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Buscemi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Steve Buscemi!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Leandro Rodrigues and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

English fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Buscemi, pushing him back against the cage.
Buscemi tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
English is trying to maintain a safe position but Buscemi gets an underhook and turns English into the cage.
Buscemi has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. English avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
English working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.

It looks like Steve Buscemi has been cut.

English pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Dale English has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steve Buscemi.

English gets caught flat footed, as Buscemi shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

English throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Buscemi ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Buscemi no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
English stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Buscemi swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Buscemi has his foot on English's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. English works his way back into a safe position though.
English wants to pass the guard but Buscemi is keeping the position.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
English avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
English wanted to stand there but Buscemi had control of the position.
English working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Buscemi is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

English decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Buscemi, up you get!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Buscemi is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. English has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Buscemi has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! English taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Buscemi doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Steve Buscemi!
