Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Clay Thompson (ranked 4616 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Kneehunter (ranked 4090 p4p, 0 weight class). Tom Kneehunter is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson fails with the takedown.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Kneehunter.

Thompson bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Kneehunter blocks a head kick by Thompson.
Thompson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Thompson shoots in and drives through. Kneehunter sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Clay Thompson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Thompson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kneehunter defends it nicely.
Kneehunter has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Thompson is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Kneehunter manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Thompson on his heels. He'll look to pass Thompson's guard now, I'm sure.

Thompson working a defensive guard but Kneehunter manages to pass into side control anyway.
Kneehunter content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Let's hope that Kneehunter has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Kneehunter scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Thompson to see if he's OK.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Thompson wants to control but Kneehunter postures up.
Kneehunter controlling from side mount.
Thompson is looking for a sweep.
Thompson is breathing heavily.

Kneehunter is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Thompson looks calm but he's in trouble here. Kneehunter gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Thompson is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Kneehunter lets go of the hold and Thompson can pop his arm back in it's socket.
