The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baals jabs at Vamoosh's body.
Vamoosh scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Baals moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Vamoosh with a flurry of punches that miss.
Vamoosh missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Vamoosh throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Vamoosh throwing strikes but missing.
Vamoosh postures up in Baals's guard and throws a big left but Baals blocks it.
Vamoosh postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Vamoosh chips away with some ground and pound.
Baals wants to sweep but no luck.
Vamoosh throws a big right hand that misses.
Baals is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Vamoosh trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vamoosh throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Baals works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Baals wants to sweep but no luck.
Vamoosh stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Baals has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Vamoosh manages to get his head free but now Baals has transitioned to an armbar! Vamoosh grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Baals! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
