Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rob Tanner (ranked 1843 p4p, 237 weight class) and Trage Tragedy (ranked 1658 p4p, 214 weight class). Rob Tanner has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rob Tanner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Trage Tragedy!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yuuki Gou and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tragedy walks into a jab.
Tragedy throws a right hand that Tanner ducks under and follows up with a left that Tanner also avoids with ease.
Tragedy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tanner tries to avoid it but Tragedy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tanner to the ground. Tanner escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Nice cross by Tanner.


It looks like Trage Tragedy has been cut.
Tanner displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Tragedy throws out the jab.
A little feinted left hand from Tanner on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Tragedy has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Tragedy moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.


It looks like Rob Tanner has been cut.
Tragedy has his takedown stuffed
and Tanner counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Tragedy lands a nice hook to Tanner's body. Tanner takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
No joy there for Tragedy, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
We've been informed that Tragedy has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Tragedy shoots for a double leg takedown but Tanner sprawls well. He's pushed Tragedy's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

It looked like Tanner wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Trage Tragedy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tragedy just misses with a punch to the body.
Tanner seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Tragedy is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.

Tragedy lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tanner circles away quickly and effectively.
Tragedy dives in and grabs Tanner's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tanner pushes down on Tragedy's head and hops out.

Tragedy tries for a takedown but Tanner sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Tragedy shoots in for a double leg but Tanner sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Rob Tanner will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Tragedy closes the distance and clinches up with Tanner, looking for a takedown. Tragedy pushes Tanner against the cage but Tanner circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
It looked like Tanner was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Tragedy connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Tanner momentarily.

Tragedy gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.


The cut above Trage Tragedy's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Tanner looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Tragedy throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Tanner takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Tragedy slips under a jab from Tanner.
A lazy left from Tanner finds it's target.

Tragedy decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tragedy is keen to just control but Tanner is a slippery customer.

Tanner is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Tragedy has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Tragedy looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Tragedy throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Tanner has his hands clasped together but Tragedy breaks the hold and Tanner is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Tragedy!
