Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Benji Verggan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Arvids Lidaka!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Valeri Chadov and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Verggan dives in for a single leg takedown but Lidaka sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Verggan shoots in but no luck this time.
No luck for Verggan with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Benji Verggan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lidaka shoots in and bounces Verggan off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Lidaka is on the wrong end of a couple of strikes there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lidaka controls from within his opponent's guard.
Verggan working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Lidaka.

Lidaka forces his way into half guard.
Lidaka takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lidaka decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Lidaka misses with a body shot.
Verggan darts in and clinches Lidaka up against the cage.
Lidaka tries for a takedown but Verggan manages to get underhooks.
Verggan is trying to pull guard but Lidaka has him pressed against the cage.
Verggan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Lidaka moves into the clinch.
Verggan jumps guard.
Lidaka working some strikes from top position.

Lidaka won't allow Verggan to sweep him here.
Lidaka drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Verggan dives on top into guard.
Lidaka seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Verggan trying to control but Lidaka is working from the bottom.
Verggan wants to pass the guard but Lidaka is keeping the position.
Verggan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Lidaka utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Lidaka seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Verggan is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Verggan wants to control from the top but Lidaka keeps moving.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Lidaka pulls Verggan in close to prevent any damage.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Verggan shoots in looking for a takedown. Lidaka tries to sprawl out of it but Verggan keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lidaka manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Verggan tries for a takedown but Lidaka sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Lidaka has a takedown stuffed.
Verggan shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Lidaka napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Verggan is working Lidaka over with some ground and pound from side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Lidaka is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Verggan prevents Lidaka from improving his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Benji Verggan will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Lidaka misses with a head kick.
Lidaka throws a head kick that misses.
Lidaka tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Lidaka rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Verggan moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Lidaka shoots in but no luck this time.
Verggan lands a big head kick that sends Lidaka tumbling to the mat! Verggan takes a step backwards and waves Lidaka back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Lidaka is rocked!
Verggan closes the distance looking for a takedown. Verggan picks Lidaka up and slams him brutally to the floor. Lidaka is out! He's out cold! Wow, you don't see a finish like that every day!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Slam). Benji Verggan!
