Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Barbosa (ranked 1939 p4p, 219 weight class) and Aleksandr Candovski (ranked 2283 p4p, 257 weight class). Aleksandr Candovski is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Daniel Barbosa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aleksandr Candovski!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Sam Margolis and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Candovski tries to keep at a distance but Barbosa has taken the fight into the clinch.
Barbosa has Candovski pressed against the cage, preventing Candovski from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Barbosa really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Barbosa manages to pull guard.
Candovski has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Barbosa to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Candovski is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Barbosa pulls down on the head and he's put Candovski to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Daniel Barbosa!
