Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anton Lutovinov!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Johnson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lutovinov tries to clinch but Johnson is having none of it.
A leg kick checked by Lutovinov.
Johnson throws a sloppy body shot
and Lutovinov counters with a solid body kick.
Lutovinov dives in for a single leg takedown but Johnson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Lutovinov checks the leg kick nicely there.
Lutovinov misses with an attempted mid kick.

Johnson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Johnson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Lutovinov trying to remain calm as Johnson controls from the top position.
Johnson tries to get to his feet but Lutovinov is in the middle of advancing position himself and ends up with Johnson in his guard.
Lutovinov working a defensive guard but Johnson manages to pass into side control anyway.

Johnson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Lutovinov is looking to regain half guard here but Johnson keeps moving and retains side control.

Johnson stands up.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lutovinov is defended easily by Johnson.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Johnson shoots in and bounces Lutovinov off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Johnson drops back looking for a leg! Lutovinov is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lutovinov manages to kick Johnson off! Johnson jumps back into Lutovinov's guard.
Johnson scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Johnson sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Lutovinov looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Johnson passes into half guard.
Johnson working over Lutovinov with some ground and pound. Lutovinov looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Johnson landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Johnson decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Lutovinov throws a sloppy head kick and Johnson moves out of range easily.
Johnson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Johnson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Johnson gets the takedown into side control.
Lutovinov looks winded!
Johnson content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Daniel Johnson dominated that round.
That's time! Johnson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Johnson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Lutovinov wants to get back to full guard but Johnson has passed into side control.

Johnson decides to stand back up. Johnson steps back and let's Lutovinov get back to his feet.

Lutovinov gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Johnson to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Lutovinov is looking to stand back up but Johnson counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Lutovinov.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Johnson prevents Lutovinov from improving his position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Johnson performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Johnson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Johnson looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Johnson controlling the pace.
Lutovinov is in trouble now - Johnson has advanced to mount!
Johnson controlling his opponent.
Johnson punishing his opponent with strikes.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Johnson controlling the position easily from mount.
Daniel Johnson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Johnson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Lutovinov srikes from the bottom but he's lost position and has given up his back.

Lutovinov is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Johnson is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Lutovinov tries to get to his feet, scrambling wildly. Johnson sees the opportunity and transitions to an armbar that forces Lutovinov to tap. Impressive finish!
