Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Marcelo Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Livramento (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Daniel Cesar and Alexandre Firmino.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva slips a jab and a cross from Livramento.
Livramento lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Silva throws a head kick but Livramento moves out of range.

Livramento fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Silva, pushing him back against the cage.

Livramento breaks from the clinch.

Livramento closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Silva wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Livramento has him pressed against the cage.

Livramento pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Silva looks for a takedown but Livramento sprawls well.

Livramento drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Silva manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Livramento has Silva in his guard.

Silva is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Livramento is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Livramento has escaped and now he's on top!

Silva is working an open guard so Livramento takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Livramento has Silva up against the cage in a clinch.

Livramento wants the takedown. Silva is fighting it off but Livramento persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Silva's guard against the cage.
Livramento seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silva escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Livramento gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Livramento might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Silva kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

That's time! Silva's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Livramento turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Livramento is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Livramento stalks Silva and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Silva's face. Silva staggers backwards, shaken.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Silva crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Livramento - the referee stops the clock and Silva gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Livramento. Silva manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Silva gets caught flat footed, as Livramento shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Silva working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Livramento doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Livramento manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Livramento is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Silva flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Livramento really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Livramento's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Silva has his foot on Livramento's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Livramento works his way back into a safe position though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Livramento wanted to stand there but Silva had control of the position.

Silva had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Livramento is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Silva Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Livramento's back instead.

Well Livramento has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
