Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
konicke lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
konicke showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Dion.
Dion throws a right hand that konicke ducks under and follows up with a left that konicke also avoids with ease.
Dion with a body punch. A glancing blow.
konicke steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Dion.
Dion misses the jab.
konicke misses with an attempted mid kick.
Dion dodges the punch combination from konicke.
konicke throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and konicke counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
konicke gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Dion.

konicke wants to get back to his feet but Dion is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
konicke wants to sweep but no luck.
konicke wants to control the position but Dion says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
konicke is not content to let Dion control the position.

konicke wants to control but Dion is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Dion bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Dion throws a left and a right that both miss
and konicke counters with a big head kick but Dion shrugs it off.
A chopping leg kick lands by konicke.
konicke uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Dion.

Dion looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Dion is breathing heavily.
konicke striking off his back but it's not causing Dion any problems.
konicke pulls Dion in close to his closed guard and prevents Dion from doing any damage or advancing position.
konicke is trying to control the position but Dion postures up.

Dion looking to sit in guard and control but konicke gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
konicke preventing the sweep.
konicke wants to control from the top but Dion keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
konicke controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
konicke trying to control but Dion is working from the bottom.
Dion looking for a sweep. Not yet Dion, not yet.
Dion on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Dion tries to get out of the position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
konicke works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Dion won't allow konicke to pass to mount.
konicke trying to control the pace.
konicke missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
konicke trying to control the action but Dion is working from the bottom.

Dion manages to escape and get back to his feet!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dion throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and konicke counters with a nice uppercut.
konicke scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Dion throws a good cross that connects.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A shot to the body from Dion misses
and konicke counters with a nice kick to the body.
konicke feints and then cracks Dion's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Dion down.
konicke connects with a good right hand that stumbles Dion. Dion circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
konicke connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Dion is rocked!
Some wild striking there from konicke.
konicke moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
A jab lands there for konicke.
Oh Dion is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A kick lands to the mid section there for konicke.
Dion seems to have got his legs back now.
konicke cracks Dion with a good jab.
Dion avoids the head kick by konicke.
james konicke seems to be getting the better of the standup.

and Dion connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Dion has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by konicke.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from konicke, right into the meat.
A nice leg kick lands there from konicke.
Dion seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. konicke shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Dion is backing up but konicke catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Dion covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! konicke Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
